Day-by-Day Itinerary
● 6:15 AM: Meetup at United Mall: Gather in front of KFC restaurant for introductions and
briefing.
● 6:30 AM: Departure from Kisumu: Begin our scenic journey towards Mbita, enjoying
the picturesque landscapes of Homa Bay County.
● Morning: Stopover at Mbita Bridge: A brief stop for photos and to stretch our legs
before proceeding to the boat departure point.
● Mid-Morning: Boat Transfer to Takawiri Island: Embark on a thrilling boat ride across
the tranquil waters of Lake Victoria to the beautiful Takawiri Island.
● Late Morning: Arrival at Takawiri Island: Upon arrival, we'll have lunch, then beach
walk.
● Afternoon: Relaxation & Exploration of Takawiri: Spend the afternoon swimming in
the clear waters, relaxing on the sandy beach, or exploring the island's shores. Optional
activities like kayaking and boatride.
● Evening: Sunset Views & Campfire Dinner:Cross to Mfangano island where we will
spend a night. Enjoy a communal campfire dinner, sharing stories and experiences
under the starlit sky.
● Morning: Lakeside Breakfast: Wake up to the sounds of the lake and enjoy a hearty
camping breakfast. After breakfast.
● Late Morning: Mfangano Island Exploration: Explore the highlights of Mfangano
Island. This may include visiting local fishing villages, learning about the Suba culture,
and potentially viewing ancient rock art sites (depending on accessibility and time).
● Lunch Break: Enjoy a picnic lunch on Mfangano Island.
● Afternoon: Return to Mbita: Board our boat for the return journey to Mbita.
● Late Afternoon: Departure from Mbita to Kisumu: Begin our road journey back to
Kisumu, reflecting on the memorable island adventure.
● Evening: Arrival in Kisumu: Arrive back at United Mall, Kisumu.
